Children Are Welcome!

In Matthew’s Gospel (19:14) Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

We at First Baptist gladly welcome children and believe it is important to integrate them into the life of the church. We offer a Sunday school class for children ages five and up that includes a Bible lesson and craft from the excellent Gospel Project curriculum. Children who want to participate in this curriculum are dismissed at the start of the sermon.

If you would like your children to participate in the entire worship service, they are more than welcome to stay through the sermon and Lord’s Supper. We understand the challenges of keeping the attention of younger children, so please do not feel like you need to have it all together to come and worship Christ with us.

For smaller children four and under, there is a nursery with age appropriate toys connected to the main sanctuary. If your child needs a break to have a cry, move his or her body, be nursed, or get a fresh diaper, this room is for that purpose. Do not hesitate to excuse yourselves whenever necessary, and feel free to return at your convenience.

There is also a beautiful garden next to the chapel with a swing set and picnic tables if you would like to have a break outside!
