Phil Neese | Lead Pastor

Phil and Brittany have been married since 2014 and are blessed with four wonderful children: Lily, Esther, Paul and Irene (and another son coming this Aug!). In May 2023, the Neese family followed the Lord’s leading and moved from Greenville, SC to Sonoma as Phil answered the call to pastor FBS.

Phil’s greatest passion is knowing Jesus Christ. Phil is continually amazed by God’s grace and love towards a sinner like him. He is passionate about preaching the Bible and equipping the local church to fulfill the Great Commission. Phil graduated from The United States Naval Academy in 2009 and is graduating this fall from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and a graduate certificate in Greek Exegesis.

Phil enjoys spending time with Brittany and their children, drinking coffee with a good book in hand, all things outdoors and studying the box score for the Atlanta Braves.

His favorite verse is Philippians 1:21, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
