Children Welcome

CHILDREN ARE WELCOME…SUNDAY SCHOOL, CHILDREN’S BIBLE STORY, “BUSY BAGS”, & HEALTHY SNACKS…

In Matthew’s Gospel (19:14) Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
We at First Baptist gladly welcome children into our church and believe it is important to integrate them into the life of the church.
We offer a Sunday school class for children ages six and under that includes a Bible lesson, craft and music that begins at 9:30 AM in the building adjacent to the sanctuary.
Our congregation believes that families should be able to participate in the service and that all age groups be able to worship together. We understand the challenges of keeping the attention of boys and girls under age five. For this reason, we have a children’s story prior to the sermon that is prepared for those ten years and under.
As you enter the sanctuary, feel free to take a “busy bag” with you to your seats in case your child needs a little quiet activity to keep him or her occupied during the service. We have made these preparations to make the church a happy and comfortable place for your children.
In addition, if your child needs a break to have a cry, move his or her body, be nursed, or get a fresh diaper, there is a special room for this expressed purpose adjacent to the sanctuary. Do not hesitate to excuse yourselves whenever necessary, and feel free to return at your convenience.
After the service ends (usually around 11:30) we offer refreshments in our fellowship hall just beyond the sanctuary. Please join us for coffee and healthy snacks. There is also a beautiful garden next to the chapel with a swing set and picnic tables if snacking and chatting outside suits your family.
We thank you for your visit and hope you enjoy your morning here at First Baptist Church of Sonoma! May God bless you and your family.
